About the organization 
The Institute for Curriculum Services (ICS) is a national nonprofit organization which enriches K-12 education by ensuring accurate, high-quality classroom material and teaching about Jews, Judaism, and Jewish history. We do this by editing textbooks and instructional materials, developing standards-supporting lessons and providing professional development for teachers around the country.
Position overview 
ICS is at an inflection point that requires a focus on effective, strategic, and creative marketing and communications. The Director of Marketing will lead the development and execution of an integrated marketing strategy that advances ICS’s mission and supports key organizational goals. The role combines strategic leadership and planning with hands-on implementation. This is a unique opportunity to join an organization on the cusp of significant growth - allowing for experimentation, thought leadership, and ownership of major initiatives.
Primary responsibilities 

  • Lead digital marketing across all channels - website, SEO, AI discoverability, email, social media, word of mouth campaigns, and paid media - with a focus on year-over-year growth in qualified leads and conversions.
  • Manage the full educator conversion funnel - lead generation, segmentation, nurturing, and follow-up - to move educators from awareness to program completion.
  • Develop and maintain messaging frameworks, visuals, and compelling content that elevate ICS’s visibility and deepen stakeholder engagement.
  • Maintain an analytics framework tracking KPIs across channels; translate data into clear narratives that inform leadership decision-making.
  • Supervise the Marketing and Communications Manager as well as agency and contractor relationships

You have 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years in marketing or communications, including leadership accountabilities
  • Proven track record designing and executing integrated marketing strategies that advance organizational goals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to craft compelling messages for educator and education-sector audiences.
  • Fluency with digital marketing platforms, social media strategy, and data analytics; ability to make strategic decisions from data insights.
  • Experience with marketing automation, CRM systems, and audience segmentation.
  • Technical proficiency with website, design, CRM, social media, marketing and AI tools.
  • Excellent project and people management skills; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
