What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Javascript Web Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Javascript Web Developer, you need strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and experience with modern frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue, often supported by a relevant degree or coding bootcamp. Familiarity with version control systems like Git, cloud platforms, and CI/CD tools is typically required. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and self-management skills are crucial for collaborating remotely and delivering quality work independently. These skills ensure the ability to build robust web applications, adapt to evolving technology, and stay productive in a distributed team environment.

How do remote JavaScript Web Developers typically collaborate with teammates and manage code integration?

Remote JavaScript Web Developers often rely on tools like Git, project management platforms, and video conferencing to collaborate with their teams. Daily stand-ups, code reviews, and asynchronous communication are common practices to ensure everyone stays aligned and code quality remains high. Developers frequently use pull requests and branching strategies to integrate their code safely, and may also participate in pair programming sessions or design discussions virtually. This setup promotes flexibility but requires strong communication skills and self-management.

What does a Remote JavaScript Web Developer do?

A Remote JavaScript Web Developer designs, builds, and maintains websites or web applications using JavaScript and related technologies, all while working from a location outside of a traditional office. Their daily tasks typically involve coding interactive features, fixing bugs, and collaborating with team members through online tools. They may work on both front-end interfaces and back-end server logic, depending on their expertise. Remote JavaScript developers need strong communication skills and must be comfortable using project management and version control tools to coordinate with distributed teams.

What is the difference between Remote Javascript Web Developer vs Remote Front-End Developer?

While both roles involve JavaScript, the Front-End Developer role emphasizes visual and interactive aspects, making it slightly broader in scope.

Job description

EvenUp is on a mission to close the justice gap using technology and AI. We empower personal injury lawyers and victims to get the justice they deserve. Our products enable law firms to secure faster settlements, higher payouts, and better outcomes for victims injured through no fault of their own in vehicle collisions, accidents, natural disasters, and more.
We are one of the fastest-growing vertical SaaS companies in history, and we are just getting started. EvenUp is backed by top VCs, including Bessemer Venture Partners, Bain Capital Ventures, SignalFire, and Lightspeed. We are looking to expand our team with talented, driven, and collaborative individuals who seek to have a lasting impact. Learn more at www.evenuplaw.com.
We are looking for a Web Engineer to help us build, scale, and optimize EvenUp's marketing website. This role is equal parts execution and innovation. You will contribute to the day-to-day development of our marketing website while actively pushing the boundaries of what a lean, AI-native team can ship.
You will be embedded in the Growth team, working closely with one other web engineer. You will collaborate across Marketing (Growth, PMM, Brand, Corporate Marketing, etc.) to deliver fast, flexible, high-quality web experiences that directly impact pipeline and revenue. You are someone who has strong frontend fundamentals, reaches for AI tools instinctively, and cares about the business outcomes your work drives, not just the code you write.
What you'll do:
  • Build and maintain scalable WordPress components, templates, and building blocks.
  • Develop reusable patterns that enable fast page creation and iteration across the team.
  • Partner with design to implement a consistent, on-brand experience across the site and contribute to a shared component library.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to build and launch net-new growth experiences, think calculators, dynamic page variants, personalization experiments, and AI-assisted workflows.
  • Work with third-party integrations across our martech stack, CRM, analytics, tag management, and ad platforms.
  • Use AI-native development tools like Claude Code as a core part of your workflow, moving faster, reducing repetitive work, and raising the quality bar for the team.
  • Contribute to automated QA workflows, including end-to-end testing and SEO audits, so the team catches regressions and content issues before they become problems.

What we're looking for:
  • 3+ years of professional experience in frontend web development, ideally with meaningful time spent on a marketing or growth website.
  • Strong fundamentals in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React.
  • Comfortable working in a CMS environment, WordPress experience is a plus, but if you have strong fundamentals you can pick it up quickly.
  • You care about the output, not just the craft, you understand why page speed, SEO, and conversion rate matter, and you tie your work back to those outcomes.
  • Comfortable collaborating in Jira and Figma.
  • You are genuinely AI-native and are familiar with tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or similar.

Nice to have:
  • Portfolio of personal projects or marketing site work you can walk us through.
