Software Engineer – FACETS Extensions / Application Development

Location: Baltimore, MD (DMV Area – Baltimore, MD or Washington, DC) Type: Contract-to-Hire Work Model: Hybrid (Onsite & Remote) Hours: 40 Hours/Week (EST)

Overview

Our Client is embarking on a major Core Consolidation initiative, migrating four legacy claims platforms into the FACETS® ecosystem. As part of this strategic transformation, we are building a strong FACETS talent bench to support multiple project waves across engineering, application development, integrations, and platform modernization.

We are seeking a Software Engineer – FACETS Extensions / Application Development to design, develop, and support applications and integrations that enhance the FACETS platform and related claims processing workflows. This role will play a key part in delivering new capabilities, system enhancements, and operational stability across critical healthcare payer systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the client's FACETS Core Consolidation program through application development and system enhancement initiatives.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain application components supporting FACETS-related business processes and claims workflows.
  • Develop and support integrations including APIs, web services, file-based interfaces, and batch processes.
  • Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and release support.
  • Conduct code reviews and follow enterprise development standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA teams, and technical stakeholders to refine requirements and validate solutions.
  • Support application performance, reliability, and ongoing enhancements within a highly integrated healthcare environment.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, deployment procedures, and knowledge-sharing activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong software engineering experience utilizing Java, .NET, or comparable object-oriented technologies.
  • Experience working with relational databases and advanced SQL queries.
  • Hands-on experience developing and supporting APIs, integrations, batch processes, and enterprise applications.
  • Experience working within an enterprise SDLC environment, including testing, release management, and deployment practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative Agile or hybrid development environment.
  • Ability to participate in a hybrid onsite work model.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with FACETS® or NASCO FACETS® platforms.
  • Experience developing FACETS extensions, enhancements, customizations, or supporting applications.
  • Healthcare payer industry experience, particularly within claims processing environments.
  • Experience supporting claims adjudication, provider, eligibility, membership, or enrollment systems.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automated deployment tools.
  • Cloud platform exposure, including Microsoft Azure or AWS.
  • Experience working in integration-heavy enterprise ecosystems.
