Tradeweb is looking for a seasoned Senior Full Stack Java Engineer to join our team, focusing on developing products for major fintech companies, investment banks, or financial institutions. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in trading infrastructure, user interfaces, and networks. This role demands excellent development skills, a deep understanding of data architecture, and an entrepreneurial approach to design.
Tradeweb Technology jobs are fully remote. The Tradeweb Technology hub is located in our Jersey City office which can be used for team meetings and collaboration efforts. There may be days where travel to the Jersey City office is recommended for organizational off-sites.
Job Responsibilities
  • Form a thorough understanding of current backend technologies used to support our institutional trading platforms
  • Create common backend components that work across each of our trading front-ends
  • Architect components to maximize data scalability between our trading infrastructure and front-ends
  • Optimize market data communication between our web-based technology and on-prem trading architecture
  • Enhance trading system experience by building new tools driven by client request
  • Work with our data team to enrich our market data with insightful correlated data events
  • Good understandingof Microservices architecture, Java Spring framework, REST/WebSocket API and Docker

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in backend development with strong proficiency in Core Java and Node.js (TypeScript)
  • Expertise in building scalable, high-performance backend services using Spring Boot and modern Node.js frameworks (Express/NestJS)
  • Strong experience with asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and non-blocking I/O in Node.js
  • Solid understanding of multi-threading, concurrency, and synchronization patterns in Java
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing distributed systems and microservices architectures
  • Proficiency with Kafka, Redis, RESTful APIs, and Java Collections framework
  • Experience working with RDBMS (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and data modeling best practices
  • Familiarity with API design, service orchestration, and backend integration patterns
  • Strong understanding of performance optimization, scalability, and system reliability principles
  • Experience with caching strategies, messaging systems, and real-time data processing

  • The current pay range for this role if performed in the city of New York is currently $150,000 to $225,000 per year, based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of pay offered will be determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to qualifications, market data, geographic location, and internal guidelines.
