Job description

Because this position requires regular on-site work at our Creative Studios in Westlake, Ohio, we will focus on candidates who currently reside in Northeast Ohio.
Remote work and relocation assistance are NOT available for this role.
The Software Engineer is a fully contributing role responsible for developing, configuring, testing, implementing, and supporting software applications and integration solutions that deliver business capabilities. This role independently completes well-defined work while partnering with senior engineers on complex design decisions and cross-system dependencies.
The Software Engineer works closely with agdigital and business professionals to analyze requirements, implement maintainable solutions, support system performance, and own assigned work through deployment and production support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with business users, analysts, and team members to understand, clarify, and document software and integration requirements.
Develop, configure, test, deploy, and support well-defined application components and integration solutions.
Implement integrations between internal and external systems using approved patterns such as APIs, file-based interfaces, scheduled processing, messaging, and real-time data movement.
Work with senior engineers and architects to ensure solutions align with enterprise application, data, and integration strategies.
Maintain working knowledge and documentation of how data is used, transformed, and maintained across assigned applications.
Follow established development standards and contribute practical improvements to shared engineering practices.
Use version control, build, test, and deployment processes consistently and maintain complete implementation documentation.
Develop and execute unit tests and support system testing, user acceptance testing, performance testing, and defect correction.
Troubleshoot application and integration issues, identify root causes for routine problems, and implement lasting corrections within assigned scope.
Monitor and support production applications and integrations, including resolution of support tickets and post-go-live issues.
Participate in small- to medium-scale project work and deliver assigned work across the full project lifecycle.
Estimate assigned work, identify dependencies and risks, and communicate status effectively to technical and business stakeholders.
Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and cross-functional team activities.
Identify opportunities to reuse existing capabilities, improve team efficiency, and simplify business or technical processes.

Security, privacy & ethical engineering: Apply secure coding, privacy-by-design, least-privilege access, secrets handling, data-classification, and vulnerability-remediation practices within assigned components and integrations.
