About the Role

Were seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead cross-functional product engineering across Angular/React frontends and Java (Spring Boot) backends deployed on Google Cloud. You will be the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all technical work transitioning from onshore to offshore development teams, ensuring clear requirements, stable environments, quality delivery, and predictable release cycles. This role blends technical leadership, people management, delivery governance, and DevOps best practices using GitLab CI/CD.

Planning & Stakeholder Management

  • Own end-to-end delivery for web applications built with Angular or React (TypeScript) and Java/Spring Boot microservices.
  • Guide solution architecture (API design, microservice boundaries, data modeling, caching, observability, security).
  • Ensure robust CI/CD pipelines in GitLab, automated testing, code quality gates, and progressive delivery in Google Cloud
  • Champion reliability practices: logging/metrics/tracing, blue/green or canary deployments, rollback strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • 812+ years in software engineering, including 35+ years in technical leadership/engineering management.
  • Proven hands-on experience with Angular/React, Java/Spring Boot, Google Cloud Platform, GitLab CI/CD.
  • Strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, microservices, and API-first development.
  • Experience running Agile/Scrum/Kanban teams with Jira/Confluence.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to create crisp technical artifacts and run effective handoffs across time zones.
