Position Summary

As a FullStack Java  Engineer on our Consumer Engineering team, you will play a key role in developing, enhancing, and maintaining our robust consumer-facing software applications. You will work within a collaborative, fast-paced environment to build scalability, optimize backend performance, and create seamless integrations between frontend interfaces and backend services. This role is ideal for an engineer who is passionate about leveraging modern tools and technologies-including AI-assisted development practices and public cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure)-to streamline daily workflows and deliver high-quality health platform solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable full-stack applications with a primary focus on robust Java backend services.
  • Write clean, well-designed, testable, and efficient code using Java and modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Use enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline workflows, automate tasks, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate emerging trends to inform solution design and strategic innovation.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Design and integrate secure, performant RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Design, optimize, and maintain relational or non-relational database schemas.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and adherence to security and development standards.
  • Maintain and enhance continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues and performance bottlenecks in production and non-production environments.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of equivalent software development experience

  • 4 years of professional software engineering experience

  • 3 years of experience with backend development using Java (Java 17 or higher) and frameworks like Spring Boot or Spring

  • 2 years of experience with public cloud technologies, specifically AWS or Azure

  • 2 years of experience working with database technologies (relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle, and/or NoSQL databases)

  • 2 years of experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Mockito) and code quality tools like Sonar (SonarQube/SonarLint)

  • 2 years of experience designing, developing, and integrating REST APIs and utilizing JSON data formats

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with frontend web development (e.g., React, Angular, Vue, or vanilla JavaScript/HTML/CSS)

  • Experience with reactive programming in Java, specifically using Project Reactor (e.g., Spring WebFlux)

  • Experience with DevOps engineering practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), monitoring/observability tools (e.g., Dynatrace, DataDog), and version control via GitHub

  • Experience with application servers and runtimes, such as Tomcat, Node.js, and Express

  • Experience using modern AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, automated code generation tools) to optimize coding productivity and workflow efficiency

  • Experience with containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Experience working within an Agile/Scrum development methodology

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication capabilities

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $72,800 - $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
