Integrations Software Engineer III

Job Summary:

  • This position is responsible for designing, architecting, implementing, and testing data integration solutions. This includes managing inbound and outbound data integrations with clients, vendors, and internal systems. In addition will translate requirements into technical deliverables, utilizing a repeatable SDLC to ensure quality and efficiency. The position requires close collaboration with business owners and stakeholders to ensure requirements are clearly defined and aligned with business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs data analysis to evaluate and confirm business requirements.
  • Assists in developing/validating source target mappings and transformation logic required to support information requirements.
  • Creates re-usable transformations and robust mappings.
  • Optimizes mappings for performance and implement complex business rules.
  • Coordinates with BA, Operations, internal stakeholders and when appropriate external clients to ensure on-time quality delivery of integrations.
  • Documents best practices and guidelines for support teams.
  • Develops test cases and test plans to complete the unit testing.
  • Identifies or gathers data quality issues and implements remediation processes for both data quality edits and data quality analytics issues and risks.
  • Works with the diverse technologies, operating systems, languages, and functionality which are used in the existing applications and systems.
  • Works with the custom client integrations for specific clients to provide enhanced business logic prior to processing in downstream production platforms.
  • Prioritizes and works on multiple tasks across multiple projects.
  • Provides input for project / work effort costing to include resource and hardware/software estimation.
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to more junior teammates.
  • May lead projects and perform other duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrates an understanding of release management concepts, such as continuous integration and continuous deployment.
  • Adept at designing and implementing large scale data integrations.

Education and training:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Five (5) plus years of experience in full life-cycle development of ETL workflows, data and systems integrations.
  • Experience with one or more mapping/ETL tools (e.g. RedPoint Data Management, Alteryx, Data Stage, Dataflux, Informatica, SSIS, or Sterling Integrator).
  • Experience with X12 EDI standards for healthcare data.
  • Experience with one or more traditional development languages (e.g. C#, Java, Python).
  • Experience processing data including validation techniques, processing efficiencies, file processing (hierarchical, flat, delimited), and retrieving or populating data within a DBMS.
  • Experience writing SQL queries and stored procedures.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
