Role Overview

Turnbridge is seeking a Senior Java Developer to design, build, and scale high-performance applications in a cloud-first environment. This role requires deep hands-on expertise in Java and microservices architecture, along with experience in Microsoft Azure. You’ll also play a key role in guiding a small team while contributing to modern, AI-enabled solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance Java-based applications
  • Build and evolve microservices architectures using Spring Boot and related frameworks
  • Integrate AI/ML and Generative AI capabilities (e.g., Azure AI services, LLM APIs) into applications
  • Develop intelligent features such as chatbots, recommendation engines, and workflow automation
  • Deploy and manage applications within Azure cloud environments
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and support to junior developers or small teams
  • Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices in coding, security, and performance
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, QA, and DevOps to deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance and AI integrations
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes
  • Stay current with emerging trends in AI, cloud, and backend engineering

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java development
  • Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure (App Services, Azure Functions, AKS, Azure DevOps)
  • Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML solutions (REST APIs, LLMs, Azure AI services)
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Proven ability to mentor developers or lead modules/projects
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native design
  • Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases
  • Familiarity with Git and modern version control practices
