Role Overview
The SAP BTP Architect leads the design and implementation of scalable, enterprise-grade solutions on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). This role is pivotal in driving digital transformation by bridging business requirements with technical capabilities and ensuring solutions are well-architected and innovative. This position reports to the Application Development Manager.
Key Responsibilities
  • Architect end-to-end solutions on SAP BTP, aligning IT strategies with business objectives.
  • Develop reference architectures and solution blueprints for integration, extension, analytics, and data management.
  • Define resiliency patterns and multi-region deployment strategies for high availability and disaster recovery.
  • Lead technical workstreams and mentor development teams in SAP BTP capabilities, including Cloud Foundry, Kyma, and ABAP Environment.
  • Promote best practices in SAP cloud development, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Integrate SAP systems (S/4HANA, ECC) with external platforms using APIs, middleware, and SAP Cloud Connector.
  • Develop and enhance ABAP objects, CAPM applications, CDS views, and Fiori Elements.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define solution requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Lead SAP BTP projects, including planning, estimation, and cost analysis, ensuring adherence to structured delivery methodologies.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is required.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of development experience is required, including at least 3 years of hands-on experience with SAP BTP services and capabilities. Candidates must have a strong background in ABAP development, with 5 or more years preferred. Proven experience leading SAP projects and cloud transformation efforts is necessary.
Technical Skills: SAP Certified Professional - Solution Architect - SAP BTP is required. Experience with SAP Fiori, SAP UI5, CAPM, CDS, Node.js, and Java/JavaScript is needed. Familiarity with SAP BAS, Fiori Elements, microservices architecture, containerization, Kubernetes, and DevOps tools (such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, Git) is also required. An understanding of cloud computing concepts (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and experience with SAP S/4HANA migration or upgrade projects are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA Cloud extensions and clean core principles.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML services and their implementation on SAP BTP.
  • Industry certifications in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Previous consulting or client-facing experience.
  • Proficiency in Python.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated compensation for this position is $140,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually.
