Job Description

As a Field Sales Engineer, your primary mission is to enhance the market presence and sales of Staubli Electrical Connector products across your designated region. Performance will be evaluated based on your effectiveness in identifying, nurturing, and securing a sales portfolio that is consistent with our strategic business initiatives. A key part of your role includes the ability to uncover new prospects and strengthen ties with key players in vital market segments. Expect to travel for business development activities, customer engagements, industry events, and Staubli gatherings, with estimated travel requirements of 25-40%.

Core Responsibilities:

 Manage and develop the designated territory, which includes the following locations:

  • In the USA: Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and New Mexico.
  • In Canada: Alberta and British Columbia.
  • Requisite travel ranging from 25-40%.

Drive electrical connector sales by cultivating relationships with both existing and prospective customers and key players within industries such as Power Transmission & Distribution, Utilities & Energy Storage, Exploration, Aerospace & Defense, Motor Drives, Power Conversion and Conditioning, and Data Centers.

Serve as an expert on high-current electrical connectors and Multilam contact technology, providing guidance and identifying new business opportunities within the designated region.

Establish and maintain excellent client relations, augmenting sales with onsite support, technical assistance, and customized training.

Execute growth strategies in collaboration with the Business Development Manger and Head of Sales to boost market share in specified sectors.

Manage ETO (engineer to offer) connector projects according to Staubli standard processes and ensure a deep understanding of product applications to deliver value-based solutions.

Accurately maintain customer and sales opportunity records within the Aurea CRM system.

Actively participate in marketing activities, including networking events, trade shows, and webinars, and ensure the completion of required administrative tasks and HR trainings.

Adapt to the company's evolving strategies and adjust job responsibilities as needed under the direction of Management.

Qualifications & Essential Skills

  • Work in fully remote position including having a reasonable working space to conduct live video conferences in a private setting.
  • Proven experience in technical sales with the capacity to engage and understand customer needs effectively.

  • Familiarity with or the ability to quickly learn about key market segments such as Power Transmission and Distribution, Utilities and Exploration, Aerospace & Defense, Industrial Machinery, and Data Centers is beneficial.
Additional Information

Required Education and/or Experience.

A Bachelor of Science degree in either Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Mechatronic Engineering.

Experience in technical sales or a customer-focused engineering role is ideal.

Have the ability to obtain a valid U.S. passport and the capacity to cross international borders, as required for managing the assigned territory and adhering to the travel expectations of 25% to 40%.

U.S. citizenship is a must, as the candidate may need to pass all requisite examinations to obtain necessary government clearances. Non-citizens with permanent resident status may be considered, provided they can meet the requirements for clearance.

May be required to successfully complete a criminal background check and provide valid proof of identity.

Must have a valid drivers license and ability to drive.

Ideally you are located in a 100 mile radius of Anaheim, CA but other West Coast locations will be considered.
