Job description

A little bit about us

Kent Scientific Corporation is a leading provider of innovative research solutions for the life sciences. For over 35 years, we have been dedicated to advancing scientific discovery by supplying researchers worldwide with high-quality, reliable, and precise instrumentation and equipment for in vivo animal research. Our commitment to excellence, customer satisfaction, and technological innovation has made us a trusted partner in academic, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology research.

A little bit about the role

We're looking for a Marketing Coordinator to own trade show and event logistics end-to-end while also flexing into content, design, and social media execution. This is an early-career, generalist marketing role - ideal for someone who has dabbled across a few different areas of marketing and wants to keep building that range, rather than someone who has specialized deeply in just one lane.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Coordinator be responsible for the following:

  • Owning trade show sign-up and logistics - securing booth space, paying show fees, coordinating housing for attendees, and managing equipment and collateral shipping to and from.
  • Building and maintaining a repeatable system for tracking trade show equipment, inventory, and storage-unit logistics.
  • Coordinating equipment loans for workshops and training sessions that use our equipment for hands-on demonstrations.
  • Coordinating ad placements in trade publications and industry association materials - gathering deadlines and specs and assembling materials for submission.
  • Managing marketing collateral: ordering, proofing, storage, and shipping to our sales team in the field.
  • Sourcing, sampling, and ordering trade show giveaways and promotional items.
  • Supporting basic design work in Canva, content production and proofreading, social media posting, and execution of email marketing campaigns.
  • Traveling up to 2-4 times per year for trade shows and occasional office visits to manage on-site logistics (e.g., equipment pickup/drop-off).

This role is remote with occasional travel; we're running a nationwide search, with a preference for candidates in or near Connecticut (commutable to our Torrington office).

We're excited about you because

  • You bring 1-3yrs of experience in a marketing, communications, or related generalist role.
  • You're organized and can juggle multiple vendors, timelines, and moving pieces without losing track of details.
  • You have some experience with  or genuine interest in content creation, social media, and basic design tools like Canva.
  • You communicate clearly and comfortably with vendors, partners, and internal teams.
  • You bring trade show, event, or logistics coordination experience. This is a plus, and not required!

To be successful at Kent Scientific, you must be:

  • Adaptable - our team and company are growing, and this role will evolve as we do.
  • A self-starter who's comfortable with structure and autonomy at the same time - we set clear frameworks and trust you to run within them.
  • Willing to jump in, learn new skills, and take on work outside a narrow lane.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment while staying accountable through weekly check-ins and task tracking.

Reasons it pays to work for Kent Scientific (in addition to the pay itself)

  • Simple IRA with employer match.
  • Healthcare benefits package.
  • Tuition reimbursement or assistance.
  • PTO and paid holidays.
  • Team-building and professional development opportunities.

Don't meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every. single. qualification. At Kent Scientific Corporation, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and just workplace, so if you're excited about this role but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with 100% of the qualifications listed, we encourage you to still apply. Our hiring philosophy looks to weed people INTO our process, not weed them out! Who knows, you may be just the right candidate for a future role at Kent Scientific Corporation. Just go for it... submit your resume!
