Job Overview

The Cost Accountant II works within the ICOE accounting organization. The role supports cost accounting activities across multiple business portfolios and is considered important to maintaining operational continuity and technical accounting expertise within the team.

This position will work remote from a home office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial close analysis and entries for assigned business units (e.g. inventory reserves, cost variances, balance sheet reconciliations) under strict deadlines.
  • Analyze inventory costs and provide updated standard costs updates to Inventory Controller.
  • Reconcile monthly inventory for each assigned site.
  • Analyze inventory activity by location and generate accruals as needed.
  • Gather and consolidate monthly inventory data analytics.
  • Manage annual inventory count process at assigned sites including final reconciliation of results.
  • Various inventory analyses as needed.
  • Support SOX inventory controls and requirements for assigned areas.
  • Ensure compliance with all Charles River inventory policies for assigned areas.
  • Perform all other related duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Associates/Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in Finance/Accounting.
  • Expereince: 3-5 years or more experience working in cost accountant/accounting/analyst positions.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
  • Excellent spreadsheet skills required.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • 5% travel may be needed for year-end audit
Compensation Data

The pay range for this position in the USA is $60K - $85K USD annually. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, location and any collective agreements, if applicable. Remote candidates located outside the US should be aware that the relevant pay range varies based on country and location.
