Legal Transcriber

Remote | Independent Contractor | Federal Contract

eScribers is seeking 30 experienced legal transcribers to support a federal contract. This is a remote, independent contractor opportunity for reliable professionals with strong transcription, grammar, punctuation, and listening skills.

Required Qualifications

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen residing in the United States.

  • Possess a REAL ID or current, valid U.S. passport.

  • Be willing to undergo a Public Trust background investigation.

  • Have a Windows-based computer running Windows 10 or later.

  • Have an active, current version of Microsoft Word.

  • Have at least two years of transcription experience.

  • Type at a minimum of 55 words per minute.

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Demonstrate excellent grammar and punctuation skills.

  • Have exceptional listening and comprehension skills.

  • Commit to transcribing at least 200 audio minutes per week.

  • Maintain consistent access to a reliable, high-speed internet connection.

  • Have a compatible USB foot pedal, such as the Infinity IN-USB-2 or IN-USB-3.

Compensation and Contractor Details
  • Transcribers are paid by the page at competitive rates.

  • This position is classified as an independent contractor opportunity.

  • Contractors are paid weekly by direct deposit after submitting timely invoices.

  • Additional bonus opportunities may be available.
