Embark on a rewarding contract role supporting students’ access to curriculum by providing essential braille translation services. This specialized opportunity is designed for a skilled Braillist or Interpreter with a passion for education and accessibility, serving a school district near Fort Worth, TX. Enjoy the flexibility of a part-time, 10-hours-per-week schedule, with remote work available for qualified candidates.

Key Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Braillist in an educational environment
  • Ability to produce braille materials with rapid turnaround, ideally staying 1-2 weeks ahead of curriculum needs
  • Expertise in using Rogue Embosser and Duxbury Software; proficiency with HMH platforms for Reading/Math and STEM classwork is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Strong organizational skills with a talent for managing multiple tasks efficiently
  • Quick, detail-oriented, and adaptable to shifting priorities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Translate print materials into braille to support student learning across subjects
  • Proactively collaborate with the instructional team to anticipate and meet material needs in advance of delivery dates
  • Operate braille production equipment and relevant software effectively for high-quality outputs
