About the job
As an IT Software Developer on our eCommerce team, you will play a key role in shaping and evolving our Magento (Adobe Commerce) platform. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable eCommerce solutions, as well as integrating the store with internal and external systems. You'll work in a collaborative, global environment where your contributions directly impact the performance, reliability, and growth of our online store.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain custom Magento (Adobe Commerce) modules following best practices and modern development standards
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions
  • Integrate Magento with internal and external systems (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce, Stripe) via APIs and web services (REST)
  • Support and contribute to the global expansion and continuous improvement of the JMP Store
  • Ensure adherence to standards across security, data privacy, architecture, development, testing, documentation, deployment, and automation
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to implement new features and enhancements
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and bug fixing
  • Conduct code reviews and contribute to maintaining high code quality
  • Occasionally support customer-facing issue resolution related to the store UI

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of Magento (Adobe Commerce) architecture and core concepts
  • Proficiency in PHP and MySQL
  • Experience with Zend Framework and MVC architecture
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web service integrations
  • Working knowledge of Git or other version control systems
  • Experience working in Agile development environments
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Clear and effective communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent written and spoken English, comfortable working with international colleagues

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of software development experience
  • At least 1 year of hands-on Magento (Adobe Commerce) development experience

The Nice to Haves:
  • Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce and/or Stripe
  • Knowledge of a foreign language, preferably Japanese or Spanish
