Overview

As experts in healthcare IT experts, Apex is committed to building systems for healthcare organizations to seamlessly communicate and exchange data across different systems and devices.
Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Policy Analyst to join our team on a contract with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Division of Global Health Prevention (DGHP). This will be a hybrid position, and the ideal candidate will be expected to be in office several days a week.
The is a temporary staffing opportunity. Supporting backfill for employee while they are on maternity leave.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
  • Evaluate and improve public health programs and policies.
  • Manage collaborative public health projects with international and domestic health organizations.
  • Develop and present PowerPoint slides, talking points, and briefings.
  • Research and prepare responses to inquiries from public health partners and stakeholders.
  • Analyze data and interpret legislative, regulatory, and policy guidance for managing overseas programs.
  • Demonstrate ability to work with diverse groups of people.
  • Develop strategies and SOPs for engagement with the CDC Foundation and potential donors.
  • Coordinate partner outreach and cultivate new relationships with various organizations.
  • Develop materials showcasing partnership opportunities with CDC/DGHP.
  • Analyze and organize opportunities for Congressional and partner engagements on global health security.

Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of appropriations law
  • Knowledge of Federal Government funding sources, including inter-agency agreement handling requirements
  • Knowledge of Federal Government budget process and the Federal accounting structure
  • Ability to communicate well in verbal and written forms.
  • Experience in working with and relating to international peoples and cultures.
  • Ability to interact and provide assistance to government staff and customers around the world with the utmost courtesy and professionalism.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
  • Ability to learn and become proficient in use of the CDC automated administrative systems.
  • Ability to work independently in the office or remote environment.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in performing listed tasks under necessary skills and knowledge
  • Proficient in using computer systems and standard software applications (Excel, Power Point, TEAMS, Word, and Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in public health, Master Business Administration, or relevant field

Pay and Benefits
The hourly pay for this position is $40.00.
