This role is hands-on and execution-oriented, partnering directly with application teams, infrastructure, security architecture, and Cloud providers to plan and deliver workstreams required to enable Data center exiting and consolidation. This includes application discovery and dependency mapping, migration and modernization planning, refactoring coordination, risk remediation, and sequencing of technical and business cutovers.

The project Manager will work closely with Cloud data center vendors, internal engineering teams, and enterprise shared services to ensure cloud readiness, modernization alignment, and disciplined delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives. Strong technical fluency, comfort operating in ambiguity, and the ability to drive progress across entrenched legacy environments are critical to success.

This role is highly cross functional and will require a strategic thinker comfortable driving alignment across technology, risk, security, and business stakeholders. The position reports to the ED, Technology Alignment & Resilience, and operates as a core execution partner for PPA’s data center modernization strategy.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive project delivery for refactoring and modernization of on-premise legacy applications to AWS, working closely with applications owners, cloud engineering, and AWS partners
  • Partner with technology teams to support application discovery, dependency mapping and migration planning to enable safe and efficient decommissioning of legacy infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with security architecture, risk, and infrastructure teams to ensure cloud onboarding, control alignment, and remediation activities are integrated into delivery plans.
  • Translate high-level DC exit and cloud strategy into clear execution plans, milestones, and measurable outcomes; serve as a key point of coordination between internal and external vendors / AWS partner
  • Drive effective teamwork, prioritization, communication, collaboration, and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities while maintaining strong business relationships.
  • Lead the effective and efficient delivery of large complex cross-functional projects and manage implementation activities for concurrent work-streams.
  • Ability to create and communicate project metrics, schedule, and status to the entire organization.
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, identify risk, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.
  • Maximize resources for the greater good of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical information.
  • Demonstrated ability to compose clear and concise written communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to create appropriate business requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure consistency with and application of project management standards, processes, and controls across projects.
    • BA/BS in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or related area of study from an accredited college or university with applicable project management experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of experience managing complex technology projects, with demonstrated experience in infrastructure modernization, cloud migration, or data center exit initiatives.
  • Proven experience coordinating on-prem to cloud (AWS preferred) application migrations or refactoring efforts, including multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Ability or Proven IT delivery background with experience across the systems development life cycle with experience in all program/project phases – plan, initiate, elaborate, design, build, test, and implement.
  • Strong understanding of legacy infrastructure environments and the challenges associated with modernization, technical debt, and application dependencies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to multitask and handle interruptions.
  • Not afraid to get involved in complex issues to drive problem solving, and rapidly get to solutions.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to "manage upward"; able to think on your feet and exercise good judgment and decision making. Must pay attention to details.
  • PMP or Project Management certification is a plus.
  • Financial Services background is a plus.
