Management Controls Inc. (MCi) is excited to welcome a Business Intelligence Analyst II to join our dynamic team in Houston, TX. This role will focus on generating and presenting Reporting and Insights data for internal and external customers.
Management Controls, Inc. (MCi) is an AI-forward organization committed to leveraging artificial intelligence to drive efficiency, innovation, and automation across all functions. Employees are expected to actively adopt and utilize approved AI tools, such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, and internal AI solutions, to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and support data-driven decision-making. All team members are responsible for using AI in a secure, compliant, and accountable manner, ensuring outputs are validated and aligned with company standards and governance practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate/Align with MServ/Account Executive for client delivery of Insights
  • Gather and analyze data to provide insight into business practices and data anomalies
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear stakeholder communications
  • Validate Insights data
  • Communicate value via Track Value Models (TVM/TVMe) to clients and internal resources
  • Determine and investigate variances in data points
  • Prepare detailed reports and analysis, both periodically and ad-hoc
  • Provide information that would help to make business decisions based on costs and trends
  • Conduct audits on processes and transactions
  • Monitor changes in processes or methods to calculate effects on overall costs
  • Suggest cost-reducing or profitable solutions
  • Provide feedback from customers for enhancements to create consensus on analytical products to develop such as dashboards and visualizations in PowerBI according to the Insights for Track Maturity Model.
  • Communicate issues with all elements of the Insights delivery mechanism to Insights Development (ETL, PowerBI data refresh, customer related issues, etc.) as they arise.
  • Leverage AI tools and other AI-assisted platforms to accelerate and enhance business intelligence workflows using natural language querying, automated insight generation, predictive modeling, and data preparation; reduce time spent on repetitive analytical tasks - such as data cleaning, report narration, and documentation - while maintaining a critical eye for accuracy and business context.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
  • Designation or an equivalent combination of related experience and education
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Data Analysis role with at least 2 years' experience in IT
  • Proven experience as a cost analyst, cost specialist or similar role
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Impeccable analytical and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Knowledge of Accounting processes a plus
  • Ability to work closely with a senior management team
  • Knowledge and understanding of practical applications for AI in project management including but not limited to data cleaning, report narration, and documentation
  • Strong communications skills - Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
  • Effective, polished interaction in virtual delivery in 1:1 engagements or presentations
  • Superior problem solving and troubleshooting skills, an ability to use various data collection tools and methodologies to analyze problems and develop solutions
  • Outstanding partnering capabilities and ability to work well in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Ability to drive product/service improvements in core technical focus area
