What is a remote integration analyst?

A Remote Integration Analyst is a professional who specializes in connecting various software systems, platforms, or applications to ensure seamless data flow and functionality across an organization—all while working remotely. They analyze technical requirements, design integration solutions, and troubleshoot any issues that arise during or after implementation. This role often involves collaborating with different teams, configuring APIs, and ensuring that data is transferred securely and accurately between systems. Remote Integration Analysts typically use tools like middleware platforms and have strong problem-solving and communication skills.

While both roles require technical skills, their core responsibilities differ: integration versus data analysis.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote integration analyst?

To thrive as a Remote Integration Analyst, you need a solid background in computer science, systems integration, and experience with APIs and data mapping, often supported by a relevant degree or technical certifications. Familiarity with integration platforms (like MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, or Informatica), scripting languages, and cloud services is typically required. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective remote communication help you collaborate with distributed teams and resolve integration issues efficiently. These skills ensure seamless data flow and system interoperability, which are critical for organizational efficiency and successful digital transformation.

What are some common challenges remote integration analysts face when collaborating with distributed teams?

Remote Integration Analysts often work with geographically dispersed teams, which can lead to challenges such as coordinating across different time zones, ensuring clear communication, and managing project dependencies remotely. To overcome these hurdles, analysts typically rely on robust project management tools, detailed documentation, and regular virtual meetings to keep everyone aligned. Building strong relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders is key to successfully integrating systems and delivering seamless solutions.

Operations Support Analyst - IBM-i (Remote)

Irvine Technology Corporation

Gilbert, AZ • Remote

$60 - $65/hr

Part-time, Contractor

Posted 11 days ago

Job description

Operations Support Analyst (IBM i)

Our client needs an Operations Support Analyst to own first-line support for a critical IBM i data platform. Right now this support work is split across a developer and a couple of part-time people, with no formal process behind it - you'd pull it all into one clear point of ownership. When issues come up (a missing vendor file, a data problem, a user request), you're the one who kicks off troubleshooting, figures out the next step, and decides when to pull in a developer. Part of the job is building the support process itself: standing up a real ticketing channel so requests stop living in scattered email threads. This is a role for someone who likes bringing order to something ad-hoc and being the dependable bridge between the business and the technical team.

As part of our process after applying, you may receive an invitation from our AI Recruiter Avery for a short conversation that lets you share more about your background beyond your resume. For questions, contact .

Job Type: Contract (potential to convert to contract-to-hire)

Location: Remote (U.S.)

Compensation: This job is expected to pay about $60-$65/HR W2

No Visa Sponsorship Available for this role

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as first-line support for the platform - monitor Outlook, Teams, and ServiceNow for user requests and application errors, and start the troubleshooting effort to find the root cause
  • Help formalize the support channel, moving users onto a real ticketing process so requests can be tracked and reported on
  • Perform QA and end-to-end testing on new applications, then handle installs, configurations, and change requests
  • Take on maintenance programming (bug fixes and minor enhancements) and system tasks like ACS Index Advisor reviews, reorgs and purges, and user access setup
  • Document issues, fixes, and processes so the team has a reliable reference

What Gets You the Job:

  • 5+ years supporting applications on an IBM i / AS400 platform
  • Hands-on with RPG, RDi, and FTP, with strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Working SQL - able to write queries, create views and stored procedures, and connect to and pull from other systems (this is not database development)
  • A clear communicator who can translate between finance and business users and the developers, and hold end users to the new ticketing process
  • Preferred: exposure to Informatica (PowerCenter/IDQ or Cloud), REST API integration, or enterprise integration tools like Boomi or TIBCO EBX
