Job description

Our Commercial department is seeking a Senior Product Filings Analyst to join our team.
This is a full time, exempt role.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Participates in product form and rate development and maintenance to ensure Hanover has the capacity and capability to deliver quality, competitive products to our customers. Execute product strategy in collaboration with Business Units, Operations, IT Systems, Underwriting, Legal, Claims, Actuarial, and Compliance. Utilize working understanding of products, operations and processes to support form formatting, prepare filings, and manage objections and approvals. Coordinate system automation requests for filed products. Support filings for projects, maintenance, and compliance activities.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
  • Performs work in support of multiple initiatives, lines of business and/or products. Business acumen includes state regulations, compliance, and product coverages.
  • In conjunction with the Filing Manager, research filing requirements and develop filing strategy; provide insight and guidance for highly regulated states or complex filings
  • Prepare filing packages by thoroughly investigating and researching multiple resources and tools to meet filing requirements.
  • Coordinate with filing vendors, if applicable
  • Maintain communications with project team constituents to keep them updated of the filing status. This includes but is not limited to ensuring project team constituents are on all appropriate notifications (filing packages, objections, objection responses and approval notifications) from our Compliance partners.
  • Manage objection responses on a priority basis. Coordinate information from Product Management and Actuarial as needed to respond to insurance department inquiries/objections within required time frame.
  • Manage approval notices on a priority basis. Compiles final approval form/rule/rate requirements and distributes to all parties involved within the required time frame.
  • Understand implications a change has to other aspects of the filing or coverage and provide consultation.
  • When appropriate and in partnership with Compliance, positively represent Product to regulatory officials to expedite successful resolution of compliance/filing issues.
  • In conjunction with Product Managers and Product Analysts, maintain database of Regulatory Concerns and/or Knowledge and Language Library by Line
  • Participate in special research, audit, and compliance projects as requested.
  • Usually works with minimal supervision, conferring with leads or product management on unusual matters.
  • Supports moderately complex changes including ISO and proprietary based changes. Coordinate with business partner to develop complete filing package.
  • Prepare a complex filing package by thoroughly investigating and researching multiple resources and tools to meet filing requirements, Acquiring peer review and approval prior to submission.
  • Coordinate with Actuarial, Legal where appropriate, Responsibility to coordinate objection response across departments.
  • Able to provide expertise and judgement to know when to push back on objections and how to respond appropriately.
  • Understands implications a change has to other aspects of the filing or coverage.
  • Strong Project Management Skillset
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of the insurance product development lifecycle, Hanover filings and procedures.
  • Assists in driving projects and/or key initiatives as delegated
  • Identifies opportunities to improve productivity, quality and speed to market, etc.
  • Responsible for reviews and approval of filing packages submitted by less experienced filing analyst and review of peer's filing packages.
  • Increased knowledge of historical filings and external resources to research and respond.

  • Support centralized Product processes, including but not limited to the following: Intake Coordination (i.e. ISO & NCCI Circulars, Manu scripting Intake) Product Filing Quality Reviews, Self-Audits, KPIs and Metrics Coordination and Reporting Forms Knowledge Base, Language Library, Product Availability Matrix, and other Product Forms and Rules Updates. Filing and Regulatory Training and Assimilation activities

WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
  • 2-5 years of Underwriting, Regulatory/Compliance, or Claims experience, plus additional 2+ years Product Analyst or Filing Analyst experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in related field.
  • CPCU, RPLU, CIC or other insurance industry designations preferred (may be in progress).
  • Solid knowledge of MS Word and Excel, Adobe Acrobat
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint, SERFF and Tracker a plus
  • Working knowledge of rate and form circulars issued by rating bureaus and research tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-directed with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and work efficiently against deadlines, Must be able to support multiple assignments while remaining focused and organized.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
