Job description

CAE is seeking a Training Standards Lead to support the execution of its global training strategy and ensure consistent, highquality customer experiences across Civil training operations. This role partners closely with Training Centers to support the development, qualification, and technical mentorship of Civil Instructors and Examiners, translating global standards into effective local execution.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide mentoring, performance oversight, and professional guidance for Instructors, Examiners, Tutors, Mentors, and Coaches.

  • Coordinate, analyze, and follow up on audits and performance reviews to ensure instructional consistency, regulatory compliance, and training quality.

  • Champion global training standards by translating enterprise initiatives into local actions and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Plan, schedule, monitor, and implement global standards procedures at the local level to ensure consistent application across operations.

  • Observe and assess instructor pilot performance using established tools (e.g., IPPM and/or DOI); analyze results and provide recommendations to global standards teams.

  • Deliver instructor training sessions in both virtual and inperson formats and support the development and maintenance of instructor training courseware and materials.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) to support local instructors and ensure alignment with global standardization policies, including delivery of foundational Civil Global IDT.

  • Coordinate governance activities and maintain regular communication with local stakeholders, including Local Training Standards Specialists, Lead Instructors, Heads of Training, Training Managers, and Center Leaders.

  • Support multiple training centers as required, including remote leadership and crosssite collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Hold or have held an ICAO ATPL or CPL license.

  • As required by supported Training Centers and NAA regulations, hold or have held one of the following:

    • FAA instructor certificate, or

    • PartFCL instructor certificate issued by an EASA member state, or

    • Equivalent 900(c) qualification relevant to the applicable ATO training domain.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience delivering or managing instructor training within an ATO and/or AOC environment.

  • Extensive experience training multipilot aircraft (MPA) pilots for professional licenses and/or associated ratings or certificates, including MultiCrew Cooperation (MCC) and/or CRM.

  • Working knowledge of applicable aviation regulations (e.g., EASA PartFCL/ORA and/or FAA CFR Parts 61, 121,135, and 142, as appropriate).

  • Demonstrated ability to act as an effective liaison between local instructor teams and global standards leadership.

  • Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholdermanagement skills.

  • Ability to manage responsibilities across multiple training centers, including remote environments.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint.

  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to model expected behaviors and standards.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience across multiple aviation training domains (e.g., BAT, CAT, FTO).

  • Experience supporting multiple business units within a global or matrixed training organization.

  • Prior involvement in global standardization initiatives or enterprisewide training programs.

Location & Pay:

  • Primary work location: Whippany, New Jersey Training Facility.

  • Pay range: $125,000 - 157,000 USD with compensation varying based on experience, qualifications, skills, internal equity, and market conditions.
