Job description

ezCater is the #1 food tech platform for workplaces in the US. The company makes it easy for any organization to manage its food needs and order from over 125,000 restaurants nationwide. For workplaces, ezCater provides flexible and scalable solutions for everything from employee meal programs to one-off meetings, all backed by beyond helpful 24/7 service and business-grade reliability. For restaurant partners, ezCater helps grow their business by bringing them new high-value customers and large orders.

Our Operations manages millions of orders a year and billions of dollars of gross revenue across a marketplace of corporate customers, restaurant partners, and delivery providers. We\'re accelerating the growth of the business and getting there depends on how well we execute in operations.

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, you\'ll be at the intersection of data and execution. You will own the analytics function that tells us whether our network is healthy, where our costs are leaking, how our partners are performing, and what we should do next — before the problem shows up in a complaint. You will translate operational complexity into the forward-looking signal that drives decisions, build the team and infrastructure to do it at scale, and partner directly with the COO and senior ops leaders to shape how ezCater operates.

What You\'ll Do:

  • Serve as a key thought partner to the COO and Operations leadership team, synthesizing findings from across our network of delivery and restaurant partners and customer support
  • Serve as a key thought partner to the COO and operations leadership team, synthesizing findings from across our network of delivery and restaurant partners and customer support into clear recommendations that influence decisions at the Management Team level.
  • Own the strategic direction and roadmap for operations analytics, setting priorities, building team capability, and creating the structure needed to scale the function as the company grows.
  • Lead and develop a team of 7, developing talent, and driving a culture of rigor, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
  • Build a data-driven operations culture, moving the org away from averages toward nuanced segmentation that separates signal from noise and surfaces what drives impact.
  • Champion a test-and-learn mindset across the Operations org, normalizing experimentation, creating psychological safety to fail fast, and building the analytical infrastructure that makes every initiative measurable.
  • Own the data foundation for operations analytics, building reporting-ready models in Snowflake via dbt, establishing KPI cadences and dashboards that create a single version of the truth for operational performance across the business.
  • Partner closely with Data Tech, Growth, Technology, Product, and Finance to align on data infrastructure, tooling investments, and shared definitions of performance — including instrumentation, data quality, and the integrity of our operational data pipeline.
  • Stay current on industry trends in restaurant and delivery operations, logistics, and partner economics — bringing external benchmarks and emerging methodologies into how we measure and improve our business

What You Have

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in analytics or data science, including at least 3 years leading a team in a high-velocity operations or B2B technology environment.
  • Direct experience working in a multi-sided marketplace, with a deep understanding of the dynamics between supply, demand, and fulfillment and how operational decisions ripple across all sides.
  • Ability to work across organizational boundaries and influence cross-functional priorities without direct authority
  • Proven ability to build and scale an analytics function, including hiring, developing, and managing analysts and data scientists across multiple workstreams.
  • Deep expertise in operational analytics, including network performance, partner health, cost efficiency, and customer experience metrics — with experience in cohort analysis, partner segmentation, and time series analysis to understand how performance evolves and where impact is concentrated.
  • Exceptional analytical depth, including causal inference, A/B and switchback testing methodologies, and the ability to separate signal from noise in complex, high-volume operational environments.
  • Deep fluency across the analytics stack — from data science methods (statistical modeling, causal inference, ML) to BI and self-service tooling (Tableau, Sigma, or equivalent) — paired with a strong grasp of modern analytics concepts including semantic data modeling, data cataloging, and operational data product definition. Proficiency in SQL and Python or R expected.
  • Demonstrated ability to shape strategy at the leadership level, translating complex technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for executives and cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to travel up to 5 days per quarter for Together Weeks, team gatherings and other events, when applicable.

The national total target cash compensation range for this position, including base salary and bonus target, is $235,681-$328,656 annually.*

*Please note: Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise and region & may vary from the amount above. This range does not represent additional compensation benefits (such as equity, 401K or medical, dental or vision insurance).
