Location: Must reside in South Carolina


Travel: 50% or less per month (mostly day trips within South Carolina, occasional overnight stays and travel to Virginia). Company covers all travel expenses and provides an inspection truck & gear.

At Mid-Atlantic Engineering, we are growing our South Carolina team and seeking a Senior Bridge Inspector to lead field inspection teams, manage projects, and collaborate with engineers and clients. If you have 5 to 10 years of experience in bridge inspections, this is your chance to take the next step in your career with a company that values expertise, innovation, and teamwork.


What You'll Do:
  • Lead inspection teams in the field, ensuring all inspections follow NBIS, DOT, and AASHTO standards.
  • Work closely with team members to ensure inspections are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Identify structural deficiencies, safety hazards, and necessary maintenance for bridges and infrastructure.
  • Oversee inspection schedules, budgets, and client coordination to keep projects on track.
  • Mentor and train junior inspectors, providing guidance on best practices and reporting.
  • Utilize advanced inspection tools such as drones, ultrasonic testing, and non-destructive evaluation methods.
  • Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and government agencies to develop rehabilitation and maintenance plans.


What You Bring to the Team:
  • 7 + of experience in bridge inspection, structural assessment, or engineering.
  • Certified Bridge Inspector (or advanced certification).
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, NBIS standards, and bridge management systems.
  • Leadership experience in managing and training field teams.
  • Proficiency in AASHTOWare, BrM (Bridge Management), AutoCAD, and related software.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills to ensure smooth project execution.
