Job Schedule: 9/80  Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked - and have every other Friday off


Job Description:

We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join and support our Supplier Quality Team for the Phoenix, AZ region. 

Essential Functions:

  • Visit suppliers to review product & process issues. Interface with internal and external customers; i.e., engineering, manufacturing, supplier, procurement to ensure requirements are met. Analyze supplier processes and planning to verify compliance with purchase orders, engineering drawings, processes, specifications, etc. Review and approval of supplier FAIs IAW AS9102.
  • Visit suppliers and perform investigation and root cause analysis to drive improvements into their processes.  Be accountable for assigned suppliers' performance and ensure suppliers are performing with a 100% quality rating.
  • Be an active contributor in Early Supplier Engagements such as Post Award Reviews (PAR), Supplier Manufacturing Readiness Reviews, and Control Plan activity.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve issues with purchase order inspection packages. Investigate and report supplier quality history as requested by quality engineering or Quality & Mission Assurance (Q&MA) management.
  • Create reporting documents to status Supplier's Performance, Non-Conformance History, impact to the Company's CoPQ, and other metrics as assigned.
  • Participates in managing the supplier ratings/scorecard system and overseeing periodic meetings. 
  • Perform periodic source inspections at assigned suppliers.
  • Resides within driving distance of Phoenix, AZ.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant Quality experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related Quality experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related Quality experience.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license. Employees who drive on company business to carry out job-related duties must possess a valid driver's license for the class of vehicle driven and meet automobile insurability requirements of the Company. 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Working knowledge of AS9100 Aerospace Quality Management System Standard and AS9102, First Article Inspection Standard.
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or inspections required.
  • Strong problem solving, RCCA and investigation experience required.
  • Certified Quality Engineer strongly preferred.
  • Ability to synthesize and analyze data from several sources and develop a plan to take action based upon the data.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a close-knit team environment.
  • Ability to travel onsite to regional suppliers 80% of the time.
  • 2+ years' experience with actuators and valves.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $96,000 - $178,000 The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $84,000 - $156,000 This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
