Job description

Job Description: Location: This position is remote in the US only. Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in Python, microservices, and cloud-native development in AWS. This role will focus on building secure, scalable services, contributing to architectural decisions, and driving engineering best practices across the team.

What Youโ€™ll Do Software Development & Delivery Write secure, performant, and maintainable code using Python. Build and maintain microservices and supporting components. Develop reusable solutions and shared libraries to accelerate team productivity.

Conduct and approve peer code reviews to ensure high-quality code and alignment with engineering standards. Ensure production readiness by implementing unit, integration, and performance testing strategies. Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines; enforce automation standards across builds and deployments.

Support root cause analysis and resolution of production issues. System Design & Architecture Participate inโ€”and at times leadโ€”design discussions and technical reviews for new features and systems. Influence architectural decisions to ensure scalability, security, performance, and alignment with enterprise standards.

Apply best practices related to performance tuning, observability, disaster recovery, and capacity planning. Innovation & Research Leverage AI code assistants to enhance developer velocity and code quality. Explore emerging technologies, frameworks, and methodologies to drive continuous improvement.

Lead adoption of new tools and practices supporting faster delivery and better customer outcomes. Mentorship & Leadership Provide technical guidance, pairing, and coaching to other engineers. Promote knowledge sharing, collaboration, and adherence to engineering best practices.

Foster an inclusive, innovative, and team-oriented culture aligned with clientโ€™s core values. Required Skills & Experience 7+ years of software development experience in enterprise or cloud environments. Strong proficiency in: Backend development using Python.

Designing and delivering RESTful APIs, including authentication, scaling, documentation, lifecycle management, and publishing via API management platforms. Working with API Management platforms such as Apigee (preferred). Building cloud-native, event-driven, and serverless applicationsโ€”AWS experience strongly preferred.

Data management, including design of performant data stores and access patterns; proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases. Experience using AI code assistants to enhance developer velocity and code quality. Hands-on experience with Agile development and DevOps principles.

Strong understanding of software testing patterns, automation frameworks, and CI/CD tooling. Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and best practices for logging, monitoring, and alerting. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment.

Preferred Qualifications Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience. Experience with observability platforms such as Datadog. Familiarity with modern front-end concepts and frameworks (helpful but not required).

Experience leading engineering initiatives or cross-team projects. Contributions to open-source projects or strong engagement in engineering communities. Pay Range: $60.00 โ€“ $70.00 per hour, depending upon experience.
