Job description

About us:
WellSync is a dynamic and forward-thinking virtual healthcare technology firm that has pioneered white-labeled patient-centric virtual care solutions. We’re seeking an experienced Fullstack Software Engineer to join our talented team and play a crucial role in developing secure, scalable, and innovative web applications that improve access to healthcare.
Key responsibilities:
As a Fullstack Software Engineer with a focus on backend engineering, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the systems and solutions that power our Healthcare as a Service integration platform. Working on both backend and frontend, you will ensure that solutions follow the highest standards to protect our customers’ PHI, scale to customer needs, and write code that continues to drive innovation in our leadership of the Healthcare space.
What you'll do:
  • Design, discuss, and implement solutions for critical systems.
  • Write high quality and maintainable code, and collaborate with other engineers to uphold standards through peer reviews and unit tests.
  • Drive innovation around schemas and APIs, while ensuring maximum uptime for systems and customer integrations.
  • Develop frontend components that utilize API endpoints for end-to-end solutioning.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Support teams to ensure solutions are built with our customers in mind to solve problems.

How you'll measure success:
  • Have empathy in caring for people’s wellness and the technological solutions that improve their lives.
  • Build solutions that are scalable and impactful, with logging and data to validate assumptions and to improve incrementally.
  • Maintain adaptability to rapid change and continuous improvement.
  • Grow along with a company as we lead through the Healthcare as a service space.

What you'll need:
  • 5+ years of professional experience with Go and microservices.
  • Proficient in cloud engineering, including understanding access patterns, schema design, and data modeling.
  • Experience with React/NextJS in a production environment with an understanding of server and client components.
  • Expertise in SQL/PostgreSQL, able to write optimized queries, perform migrations, and design for scale.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, infrastructure as code (Terraform, Helm).
  • Experience working with third-party API integrations; an ability to research, discover, and problem solve when the docs may not provide exact answers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.

Skills that are nice to have:
  • Experience in healthcare or regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and secure system design.
  • Previous work with event-driven or distributed systems.
  • Experience with gRPC and OpenAPI/API.

Perks and benefits:
  • Competitive compensation package ($140,000 - $175,000 annual base salary).
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage.
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
  • Life / AD&D insurance.
  • 401(k) plan.
  • Paid vacation and company holidays.
  • Optional: Voluntary Life, Accident, and Critical Illness insurance.
  • Equity and bonus structure (subject to role).

Interview process:
We keep our hiring process straightforward and respectful of your time. It typically includes three stages:
  • Screening Interview - a short call to get to know each other and align on expectations.
  • Technical Interview - a deeper dive into your technical skills, problem-solving, and approach to engineering.
  • Management Interview - a conversation with leadership about collaboration, culture, and long-term fit.

Equal opportunity:
At WellSync, we believe diversity fuels innovation. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
