Job Title: Project Manager - Engineering & Construction
Location: Amarillo, TX (Remote)
Job Type: 2-Year Contract
Pay Rate: $50.00-$60.00/hour
Work Schedule: Remote (Offsite) with occasional travel
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee multiple utility infrastructure projects for a single client. This role will manage the engineering and construction of a new substation, substation upgrades, transmission line replacements, and distribution line replacement projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong project management background in engineering, utility, or construction environments and be comfortable coordinating cross-functional teams while driving projects to successful completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of utility infrastructure projects, including:
- New substation construction
- Substation upgrades
- Transmission line replacement
- Distribution line replacement
- Coordinate project activities from initiation through completion, ensuring projects remain on schedule and within scope.
- Lead project meetings by preparing agendas, documenting meeting minutes, and tracking action items.
- Monitor project schedules, milestones, budgets, and deliverables while providing regular status updates to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with engineering, construction, and client teams to resolve project issues and maintain project momentum.
- Support technical discussions and coordinate with subject matter experts to address project-related challenges.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Travel occasionally to project sites in Dalhart, TX, as needed. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, preferably supporting engineering, utility, or construction projects.
- Experience managing capital infrastructure, transmission, distribution, or substation projects is highly preferred.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively coordinate multiple stakeholders.
- Experience facilitating meetings, tracking action items, and managing project documentation.
- Ability to identify project risks and assist in resolving technical and scheduling issues.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software (Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar) is preferred.
- Willingness and ability to travel occasionally to Dalhart, TX.
