Position Overview:


The Senior Database Developer is expected to be a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) and project champion for all database development related to software systems. This person must ensure tasks are completed on a mutually agreeable schedule, ensuring quality and adherence to project management, architectural, and other standards established by the organization. In addition to completing tasks themselves, the Senior Database Developer assists in assigning tasks to other IT database developer staff and provides input to the Manager, Applications Development to facilitate the development and evaluation of IT staff.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop, and maintain robust database systems that align with business goals and objectives.
  • Optimize database performance, scalability, and security.
  • Develop, manage, and optimize ETL workflows usingSSIS to support data migration, integration, and transformation needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement data pipelines.
  • Design and develop dynamic and visually compelling reports and dashboards usingSSRS and Power BI.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of reporting solutions to support business intelligence initiatives.
  • Implement data validation, quality assurance, and governance best practices.
  • Establish and enforce standards for data integrity, security, and compliance.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of database developers and analysts.
  • Conduct code reviews, share best practices, and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Partner with IT teams to align database strategies with organizational objectives.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in database development and management.
  • Expertise in SSIS, SSRS, and Power BI.
  • Strong experience in SQL Server, T-SQL, and stored procedure development.
  • Proven experience in data modeling, database design, and performance tuning.
  • Experience leveraging AI in daily processes.
  • Proficiency in developing ETL workflows, data warehousing concepts, and multidimensional/Tabular models.
  • Advanced knowledge of Power BI, including DAX and Power Query.
  • Familiarity with Azure Data Services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
