What is a remote indie animation studio?

A remote indie animation studio is a small, independent company or collective that creates animated content, such as films, series, or shorts, with team members working from different locations rather than a central office. These studios typically rely on digital collaboration tools to coordinate projects and communicate. Remote indie studios offer flexibility, creative freedom, and often focus on unique, experimental, or niche animation projects. They may work on original content or collaborate with clients to produce commissioned work. The remote aspect allows them to access talent from around the world.
