Back BGA Rework Technician (2nd shift) #26-292 Phoenix, Arizona, United States Apply X Facebook LinkedIn Email Copy Job Description

Mercury Systems is seeking skilled BGA rework technicians to support a variety of production tasks involving PCBs and PCBAs. To be successful, you will need to demonstrate skill in removing faulty components, cleaning pads, applying solder paste, and replacing components by reflowing solder joints using BGA rework equipment and hand solder equipment. This is a 2nd shift opportunity, daily hours will be from 2:30 pm to 12:00 am, and overtime is available and encouraged.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Master the complete BGA rework process for safe desoldering, cleaning, ball stenciling solder paste, placement and resoldering.
  • Interpreting job routers, written instructions, wiring diagrams, and schematic drawings for assembly of electronics and safe operation of BGA rework equipment.
  • Performing a variety of inspections to ensure assemblies meet/exceed IPC standards
  • Performing pass downs with outgoing/incoming shifts
  • Requires regular interaction with Engineering Staff
  • Other duties as assigned by Lead or Supervisor

Required Qualifications:

  • Will require an on-site soldering assessment to J-STD-001 standards during the interview
  • Must have meticulous hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Must be able to work 2nd Shift hours, 2:30 pm to 12:00 am
  • Typically requires 3 - 5 years experience of BGA rework
  • Must be able to work for extended hours utilizing a microscope to perform inspection and solder touch-ups
  • Hand soldering experience is required
  • Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic discharge) procedures
  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Rework/repair, wire attach, and mechanical assembly
  • Must be detail oriented and able to multitask
  • IPC-610, J-STD-001 and 7711/7721 certification preferred
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule in order to meet production and customer needs
  • 10 plus years related experience preferred

Pay Grade Range Fulltime Equivalent Job Grade Salary Range for this position * $44,000.00 - $88,000.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in FL, GA, IN, AZ, AL, MD or TX, and all remote employees * $49,300.00 - $98,600.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in VA, CA, NH or MA * $51,900.00 - $103,800.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in NJ Additional Information
