• Conduct thorough mental health assessments that take into account the cultural context of each individual’s experiences to develop effective treatment plans.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques tailored to each client's unique cultural and personal background, fostering a safe and affirming space for healing.
• Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions, addressing a range of mental health concerns while promoting resilience and personal growth among participants.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists and psychologists, to ensure holistic care and consistent treatment across disciplines.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support for clients during acute mental health emergencies, demonstrating strong de-escalation and assessment skills.
• Educate clients and their families about mental health issues, treatment pathways, and relevant community resources, helping them navigate their mental health journeys.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with all legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently.
• Engage actively in case conferences, training sessions on cultural competence, and team meetings to enhance collaborative treatment efforts.
• Stay informed about current research and best practices in mental health therapy, particularly regarding culturally responsive care.

As a licensed therapist at our center, you will be working primarily with individuals from diverse backgrounds, which includes ethnic and cultural minorities, as well as the LGBTQ+ community. Many clients may come from refugee or immigrant backgrounds, presenting unique challenges and needs. Your role will be crucial in reducing barriers to mental health services and providing effective, inclusive therapy that acknowledges each client's cultural context.

• A Master's or Doctoral Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid professional license as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
• Strong understanding of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment practices, and cultural competence in therapeutic approaches.
• Proven experience in providing individual and group therapy through culturally responsive methods.
• Strong crisis intervention skills and the ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiency in using electronic health records systems and familiarity with various digital tools.
• Commitment to ethical guidelines, professional boundaries, and patient confidentiality.
• The ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
