The goal of PNC’s Development Programs is to move analysts and associates from development roles into production roles in one of PNC’s lines of business.

The Data, Modeling, and Analytics (DMA) Development Program is an 18‑month rotational program that provides exposure to quantitative and business analytics, data science and modeling, and data‑driven decision‑making across commercial and consumer businesses. Analysts work with experienced professionals who transform data into actionable insights to support portfolio management, risk management, capital decisions, and business strategy.  The program includes a structured learning curriculum, exposure to senior leaders, and a robust mentorship experience.

Rotations support PNC’s data strategy including:

  • Commercial and Consumer Data Management
  • Portfolio Analytics
  • Balance Sheet Analytics & Modeling
  • Data and Decision Science
  • Marketing & Consumer Analytics
  • Business Operations Enablement
  • Fraud & Anti- Money Laundering (AML)

Analysts will gain direct exposure to various business areas including:

  • Asset Management Group (AMG)
  • Corporate Institutional Banking (C&IB)
  • Commercial Real Estate
  • Residential Real Estate
  • Retail (credit card, auto, etc.)
  • Small Business

Analysts work on real-world business problems and apply PNC’s vast collection of analytical and modeling tools:

  • Generative AI (e.g. GitHub Copilot)
  • Cloud-based platforms (e.g. AWS)
  • Big Data systems (e.g. Apache Hadoop)
  • Application Development (e.g. SQL, Python, R, and Tableau)
  • Quantitative development and deployment environments

Upon successful completion, analysts are placed into roles where they can continue building their careers across PNC’s analytics disciplines. Opportunities in the Data, Model, and Analytics Development Program are in Pittsburgh, PA and Tysons, VA.

Job Profile:

  • Participates as an analyst/associate in the line of business development program.

  • Performs or assists the core activities of the group by applying knowledge learned to drive business results (e.g. deal, sales, or process support, internal or external customer interaction, or supporting internal projects). Works under supervision and may have limited approval and/or exception authority.

  • Participates in social learning within the organization (e.g. identifies and networks with business representatives and peers, participates in mentoring, job shadowing and community outreach)

  • Participates in formal learning (e.g. classroom, web-based, or virtual) and completes related activities and projects.

  • Supports the internal and external customer experience by providing excellent service at all times; takes accountability and ensures problem resolution.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Preferred STEM or business majors (e.g. Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Business). Other majors can be considered if there is a strong proven interest in analytics.  
  • Minimum GPA 3.2.
  • Experience in data analysis, preferably using AI, Power BI, SQL, Python, R, and/or Tableau
  • Roles at this level are filled by recent university / college graduates with little or no professional experience but possessing relevant skills. Includes individuals joining the organization through a corporate development/training program.
