The Saab, Inc. Talent Acquisition team seeks a motivated, detail-oriented Senior Recruiter with a passion for identifying, engaging, and hiring high-caliber technical talent while delivering an exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience. As part of our growing HR organization, this role will support hiring with a particular focus on Engineering, Technical Operations, and Program Management roles.

The Senior Recruiter will partner closely with hiring managers, leaders, HR Business Partners, and cross-functional stakeholders to understand workforce requirements, develop targeted talent strategies, and build strong pipelines for highly specialized and business-critical positions. The ideal candidate brings demonstrated experience recruiting for engineering, technical, program management, and other specialized professional roles, along with the ability to effectively source both active and passive talent in competitive markets. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced recruiter who understands technical talent markets and is eager to contribute to a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment supporting Saab, Inc.'s mission of keeping people and society safe.

The ideal candidate will be based at our headquarters in Syracuse, NY or work remote from a location in the Eastern or Central Time Zone. This role requires the ability to travel up to 15%.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with hiring managers and leaders to understand workforce plans, role requirements, organizational priorities, and talent needs.

  • Develop and execute targeted recruiting and sourcing strategies predominantly but not limited to engineering, technical, program management, and specialized professional positions.

  • Identify, engage, and cultivate passive candidates using LinkedIn, internal talent databases, search techniques, market research, professional networks, and other sourcing tools.

  • Build and maintain high-quality technical talent pipelines for current and anticipated hiring needs, including hard-to-fill and specialized positions.

  • Conduct market research and talent mapping to understand technical skill availability, competitive talent markets, compensation trends, and sourcing opportunities.

  • Partner with hiring managers to establish effective assessment strategies, interview approaches, candidate profiles, and selection criteria.

  • Review resumes and conducts initial candidate screens to assess technical qualifications and alignment with role and organizational requirements.

  • Serve as a trusted talent advisor to hiring managers, providing insight into talent availability, candidate quality, compensation considerations, competitive hiring conditions, and recruiting strategy.

  • Manage candidate activity throughout the recruiting lifecycle, ensuring timely communication and a high-quality candidate experience.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate information, activity, disposition, and recruiting documentation within Workday.

  • Partner with HR Business Partners and compensation team to support compensation analysis and offer development and negotiation.

  • Assist with recruiting events, technical networking initiatives, employer branding activities, university/campus outreach, and other programs designed to strengthen Saab, Inc.'s technical talent pipeline.

  • Contribute to broader Talent Acquisition initiatives, process improvements, and programs that enhance the organization's ability to attract and retain high-performing technical talent.

Compensation Range: $92,000 - $115,000

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required with 8+ years of experience preferred in recruiting and sourcing, or a master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience.

  • Significant recruiting experience within technical and/or complex corporate environments, with a strong preference for experience recruiting engineering and program management talent. Experience within defense, aerospace, technology, engineering, manufacturing, or other highly regulated or specialized industries is preferred.

  • Demonstrated strength in sourcing and recruiting passive talent, with a proven ability to identify, engage, and close highly sought-after talent through Boolean search, strategic sourcing, market research, talent mapping, networking, and other targeted recruiting strategies.

  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with engineering leaders, hiring managers, HR Business Partners, and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems and recruiting technology; Workday experience preferred, not required.

  • Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, influencing, and stakeholder-management skills.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple requisitions and competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail and delivering against deadlines.

  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, discretion, and professionalism.
