• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for children and adolescents to evaluate their psychological needs and develop individualized treatment strategies.
• Formulate and implement tailored treatment plans, integrating evidence-based interventions and taking into account the developmental stages of each patient.
• Provide therapeutic services including one-on-one counseling and family therapy sessions aimed at enhancing communication and support structures within families.
• Collaboratively work with child psychiatrists, nursing staff, and social workers to ensure multidisciplinary care is provided effectively, emphasizing holistic well-being.
• Engage in crisis intervention and immediate support for patients experiencing acute mental health challenges, enabling timely and effective responses.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, available treatment modalities, and community support resources to empower them in their care journey.
• Maintain precise and confidential documentation of patient interactions and treatment processes in compliance with legal and organizational standards.
• Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to case discussions to facilitate ongoing professional development and enhance service delivery.
• Commit to remaining current with advancements in child and adolescent mental health care through continuous education and training opportunities.

Your primary focus will be on a diverse range of children and adolescents who present with various mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders. You will provide care to those facing significant life challenges, including terminal illnesses and other complex psychological needs. This role emphasizes a comprehensive approach, ensuring that both the patients and their families receive the mental health support necessary for navigating difficult emotional terrains.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCMFT, LCSW, LCP, LCPC, or LSCSW in the state of Kansas.
• Proficient understanding of child and adolescent mental health disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Demonstrated experience providing individual and family therapy to young populations.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered and compassionate approach.
• Ability to build strong therapeutic alliances with children, adolescents, and their families.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficiency in using computer applications relevant to client documentation and care coordination.
• A collaborative mindset that embraces teamwork within a multidisciplinary care environment.

• At least two years of relevant experience in mental health counseling, specifically with child and adolescent populations.
• Experience in hospice or palliative care settings is a plus, as it enhances understanding of complex emotional needs in terminal illness scenarios.
