Job description

Affinity is looking for reliable, compassionate, professional Licensed Practical Nurses to care for our patients. The ideal LPN professional is first and foremost qualified and compassionate. We have a variety of opportunities available (e.g., Shift care, Visits, etc.) depending on your availability and preferences. We use Axxess and HHAexchange.

Responsibilities
    1) Record a patient’s medical history accurately
    2) Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate etc.
    3) Observe patients under treatment to identify progress, side-effects of medications etc.
    4) Monitor patients’ condition including fluid intake and output and compose patient charts
    5) Administer injections, prescribed medications, enemas etc., clean and dress wounds and assist with other basic medical care tasks
    6) Collect samples for lab testing as assigned
    7) Provide emotional and psychological support when needed
    8) Communicate with patients’ family or friends to provide advice, comfort and release instructions
Skills
  • Proven experience as an LPN
  • Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Familiarity with home health, safety and sanitation standards and procedures
  • Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices
  • Excellent knowledge of medical and hospital terminology
  • Good knowledge of technology for charting
  • Perfect physical condition and stamina
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate and able to handle stress
  • Successful completion of LPN license program is a must
