As a Virtual Mental Health Counselor, you will:

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to evaluate the mental health needs of cancer patients, developing tailored treatment plans that cater to individual circumstances.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness practices, adapting these methods to optimize each patient's experience and outcomes.
• Facilitate support groups and therapeutic interventions, creating a safe environment for patients and families to share their experiences and coping strategies.
• Stay current with the latest research in mental health treatment, integrating new findings into practice to enhance service quality.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to deliver holistic care that addresses both psychological and physical health needs.
• Participate actively in professional development programs to continuously improve your counseling skills and efficacy.

Your primary focus will be supporting cancer patients at various stages of their experience, from diagnosis and treatment to survivorship and palliative care. You will be instrumental in helping patients navigate the emotional and psychological impacts of their illness, fostering resilience, and promoting coping strategies for both patients and their caregivers.

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

• A master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
• A clean professional record with no history of medical malpractice claims, as verified by an independent third party.
• Authorization to work within the United States.
