As aTax Manager or Senior Managerin ourPrivate Fundsgroup,you'llfocus on serving hedge fund clients while also engaging with private equity, fund of funds,and real estate funds.You'lllead engagements, guide high-performing teams, and deliver strategic tax solutions that help sophisticated fund managers navigate complex structures and evolving regulations. Beyond compliance,you'llshape strategy, strengthen client relationships, and help drive the continued growth of our Private Funds practice.

Tax Strategy & Compliance

  • Lead tax compliance and advisory engagements for hedge funds and other private fund clients, addressing technical, operational, and risk considerations.

  • Review andprovidestrategic insight on partnership and corporate tax returns, with an emphasis on hedge fund structures, investor allocations, and income recharacterization issues.

  • Advise clients on complex topics such as securities trading, mark-to-market accounting, fund structuring, and management/incentive fee arrangements.

  • Interpret new and evolving tax legislation affecting hedge funds,identifyingimplications and opportunities for tax efficiency.

  • Manage multiple priorities whilemaintainingexceptional quality and client service standards.

  • Provide guidance on relevant federal, state, and international compliance matters, including PFIC, CFC, and withholding considerations for cross-border investors.

Client Experience

  • Serve as the primaryclientcontact, managing expectations, deadlines, and deliverables.

  • Drive engagement planning and execution, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and quality across all client interactions.

  • Collaborate with partners and directors toidentifyand implement tax strategies that align with client goals.

  • Oversee billing, budgeting, and WIP management for assigned engagements.

  • Develop trusted, long-term client relationships built on proactive communication and exceptional service delivery.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and mentor junior and senior staff to help them grow technically and professionally.

  • Promote a culture of teamwork, open communication, and continuous improvement within thepod.

  • Contribute to the development of young leaders through active involvement in training and mentoring programs.

  • Support process improvements and knowledge sharing across the broader Asset Management Tax team.

  • Demonstrate forward thinking, innovation, and accountability in all aspects of leadership.

Who You Are

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountingor related fieldrequired.

  • CPA license required at the Senior Manager level; for Manager candidates, progress toward a CPA is strongly preferred.

  • 5+ years of progressive public accounting experience, with a focus on private fund taxation (private equity, hedge, or real estate funds).

  • Proven experience managing client relationships and engagement teams.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex tax concepts.

  • Strong leadership, project management, and organizational skills.

  • Initiative to learn, challenge the status quo, andoperateeffectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Proficiencywith Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe) and familiarity with tax preparation software.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience reviewing complex partnership structures and multi-tiered entities.

  • Familiarity with fund-level and investor-level allocations and related reporting.

  • Knowledge of tax implications related to carried interest, incentive allocations, and funddistributionwaterfalls.

  • Demonstrated ability toidentifytax planning opportunities and contribute to strategic client discussions.

Estimated Base Range: $80,000 - $150,000*

*Base compensation offered to candidates are determined based on factors such as candidate's relevant skillset, experience, licensure, and certifications, as well as job responsibilities, geography, market considerations, and organizational needs.
