As a Mental Health Counselor, you will engage in regular virtual collaboration with fellow therapists, psychiatrists, and case managers. • Conduct thorough mental health assessments and evaluations to identify clients’ needs, utilizing standardized assessment tools and evidence-based practices.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each client’s unique circumstances, incorporating various therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness techniques.
• Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions, creating a safe and nurturing environment that promotes open communication and trust.
• Provide crisis intervention services for clients experiencing acute mental health emergencies, ensuring timely support and coordination with emergency services when necessary.
• Collaborate regularly with a multidisciplinary team, including case managers and psychiatrists, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for clients, thereby improving overall treatment outcomes.
• Engage actively in community outreach initiatives aimed at educating the public about mental health resources and reducing stigma.

As a Mental Health Counselor at our community health center, you will work with clients from a variety of cultural, economic, and social backgrounds. Our patient population includes individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health disorders. Your role is crucial in providing culturally competent care that respects and understands the unique experiences and challenges faced by each client.

• A current and valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
• A master’s degree or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills needed to establish rapport with clients and facilitate productive therapeutic relationships.
• Cultural competence and sensitivity, allowing for effective interaction with clients from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
• Strong organizational skills and proficiency in maintaining accurate documentation and timely reporting pertaining to client care.

• Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and treatment planning.
• Previous work in a community mental health setting, especially with underserved populations.
• Familiarity with evidence-based practices and modalities relevant to mental health treatment.
• Participation in community outreach programs aimed at enhancing mental health awareness and education.
