Responsibilities
Reviews, analyzes, and assigns codes based on appropriate coding guidelines and criteria for outpatient medical record documentation to include, but not limited to: medical, diagnostic and surgical documentation for assignment of the correct ICD-10-CM and /or CPT-4 HCPCS codes.Primary coding responsibility is Hospital Outpatient Surgery, Wound Care and Observation.
Qualifications
Education
  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
Work Experience
  • Hospital coding experience Required
  • Experience in coding at a multi-hosptial organization and remote coding experience is Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
  • One or more certifications Upon Hire Required
  • RHIA - Registered Health Information Administrator or
  • RHIT - Registered Health Information Technician or
  • CCS-Certified Coding Specialist or
  • CCA - Certified Coding Associate or
  • CCS-P or
  • CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H or
  • Coding Certificate program (AHIMA accredited) Preferred
