Job description

About Ritterband Tax & Accounting Solutions

Ritterband Tax & Accounting Solutions, LLC is a multi-office CPA firm headquartered in Georgia, providing tax, audit, bookkeeping, and advisory services to individuals, businesses, nonprofits, and trusts across the United States. We are a people-first firm with a collaborative, high-performance culture and a commitment to excellence in client service.

Role Overview

We are looking for a credentialed, experienced CPA to join our team in a client-facing advisory capacity. This is not a traditional preparation or review role — it is a relationship and communication role for a technically strong accountant who excels at translating complex tax matters into clear, confident conversations with clients.

In this role, you will serve as the senior client-facing voice on tax matters. Returns may be prepared and reviewed by other members of the team. Your focus is on owning the client relationship, understanding the full picture of a client’s tax situation, and being the person the client calls when they have a question, a concern, or need guidance.

This role is ideal for a CPA who loves clients and communication as much as they love tax.

What You Will Do

•   Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of tax clients across individual, business, and entity return types

•   Hold high-level advisory conversations with clients about their tax returns, tax positions, planning opportunities, and financial matters

•   Review completed returns (prepared and reviewed by other team members) and present them to clients with confidence and clarity

•   Identify and proactively communicate tax planning opportunities, life event triggers, and advisory needs

•   Handle sensitive client situations with professionalism

•   Collaborate closely with preparers, reviewers, and the bookkeeping team to ensure seamless client delivery

•   Participate in client onboarding and offboarding

•   Flag advisory, bookkeeping, and other service opportunities to the appropriate team members

•   Represent the firm’s values in every client interaction

Requirements

•   Active CPA license — required

•   Minimum 5 years of experience in public accounting or a client-facing tax role

•   Strong working knowledge of individual (1040), business (1120, 1120-S, 1065), trust (1041), and nonprofit (990) return types

•   Proven ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly and confidently to non-technical clients

•   Comfortable presenting completed returns and explaining results, positions, and planning opportunities

•   High emotional intelligence — able to manage difficult conversations, unhappy clients, and sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy

•   Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•   Self-directed and organised with the ability to manage a client portfolio independently

•   Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with cloud-based practice management tools (Karbon, Lacerte, QBO experience a plus)

Nice to Have

•   Experience in a multi-partner or multi-office CPA firm

•   Background in advisory or financial planning conversations

•   Familiarity with SafeSend, ShareFile, or similar client portals

Who Will Thrive in This Role

You are a technically strong CPA who has spent years in public accounting and genuinely enjoys working with clients. You are confident in a client conversation, comfortable explaining a difficult result, and skilled at turning a tax return into an opportunity for deeper client engagement. You are not looking to manage people or build workflows — you want to own relationships and be the trusted advisor your clients call first.

Compensation & Benefits

•   Remote / flexible working arrangement

•   Professional development support including CPE and licence fees

•   Collaborative, supportive team environment

•   Opportunity to build a meaningful client advisory practice within a growing firm
