Position Summary

This individual will support the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) revenue accounting team to complete special projects in collaboration with cross-functional business partners and play an integral role in system and process improvements. Conduct analysis of activities at the macro and micro levels for use by managers and senior leadership, including standard or ad hoc reporting. Perform exploratory data analysis, cleansing, aggregating, transforming, and balancing data for use in financial accounting and reporting.

Analyzes, verifies, and balances all source data used in the preparation of journal entries, financial exhibits, reports, schedules, and other documents in terms of accuracy, completeness, and compliance with requirements. Creates impactful visual representations of analytic insights and concise summaries of methodology geared to audience needs. Prepares and maintains internal control documentation and testing in accordance with SOX. Evaluates controls for effectiveness and identifies internal control improvements, as necessary.

Maintains strong working knowledge of systems and applications and process flows. Identifies process improvements and automation opportunities using data extraction and analysis tools, and coordinates testing and implementation.

Duties

Collect, compile, prepare, and analyze data from multiple systems, to process revenue entries, journal entries, and other financial transactions. Adapt to constantly changing requirements and business needs; quickly implementing solutions when necessary. Ensure continual review and improvement of processes to strengthen controls, improve productivity and reduce cost. Cleaning and preparing data for analysis. Analyzing data for trends and correlations. Designing and developing databases Organizing, interpreting, and visualizing data Communicating results to stakeholders Using data modeling techniques to bring cohesion to unstructured and semi-structured data. Conducting quantitative analysis to obtain insights, developing these into workable solutions, and then following these through to successful delivery (while measuring outcomes).

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting or MBA with accounting focus a plus. Public accounting experience or revenue/technical accounting experience in a public company or a combination of both desired. 3+ years of experience in contract management and project accounting, preferred. Strong understanding of accounting principles (ASC 606, US GAAP). Strong understanding of Order to Cash processes. Experience or background in accounting, finance, contract, and project accounting strongly preferred.

Demonstrates critical thinking skills, strong analysis, problem-solving, and decisive judgement. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Is motivated to learn, and being proactive and willing to take on additional responsibilities. Experience with Peoplesoft preferred. Experience with driving data to insights and sustainable process in a large matrixed organization. Strong analytical and communication skills that allow for the development of data driven reports.

In-depth knowledge of spreadsheet, reporting, query, and/or relational database software required. Working knowledge of Peoplesoft/Oracle Fusion preferred. Demonstrated advance experience/proficiencies in MS Access, Excel, and Power Products (Power BI, Power Query, etc.), SQL, Alteryx. Proficient in MS Office products (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
