Job description

Job Title: Sr. Technical Project Manager - ACTIVE PMP REQUIRED Location: Memphis, Tennessee Type: Contract Compensation: Not specified Work Model: Remote – offsite Hours: 40 hrs a week

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage infrastructure projects within the Technology Services portfolio from initiation through closure, owning outcomes rather than just status updates.
  • Build and maintain integrated work plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, RAID logs, and PMO governance artifacts; hold owners accountable to committed dates.
  • Own the communications plan and reporting cadence including steering materials, executive briefings, escalation paths, and stakeholder updates.
  • Provide direction and influence to cross-functional technical teams, vendors, and subject-matter experts without direct reporting authority.
  • Apply structured change management to scope, requirements, and expectations, clearly articulating trade-offs to enable executive decision-making.
  • Surface risks early, drive issues to resolution, and make the call when decisions are being avoided.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; no substitution of experience for degree.
  • Minimum ten (10) years managing enterprise-wide IT projects in a role as the accountable project manager.
  • Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification; certificate number and expiration date required at submission.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional project teams and influence senior stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Full professional proficiency in spoken and written English, capable of leading executive meetings and producing materials independently.
  • Must reside in and work from the continental United States and be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Proven leadership presence, credibility, and ownership.
  • Strong project management discipline including planning, tracking, and follow-through.
  • Experience with change management navigating resistance, scope trade-offs, and scope decisions for sound outcomes.
  • Preferred experience with portfolio governance, telecom and VoIP, endpoint management (Intune), Azure/cloud services, networking, virtualization, and related infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with waterfall, Agile (Scrum, SAFe), and hybrid methodologies.
  • Experience in healthcare or academic research environment is advantageous.
  • Ability to understand complex technical subject matter to challenge estimates and assumptions.
  • Experience with tooling such as ServiceNow PPM, Azure DevOps, or JIRA is a plus.
