Salary: $38-$43 per hour

Territory for this position is Central and Southern Maine


Company Summary:
T&J Appliance Solutions is a division ofT&J Companies, a family-owned and operated company based in Clifton Park, NY. T&J Companies and its divisions self-perform commercial appliance and electrical services for customers throughout the Northeast with a focus on retail locations.

Position Summary:
The Commercial Appliance Technician is responsible for responding to customer work orders as assigned by their service manager. This includes traveling to and from customer locations to troubleshoot and resolve issues as needed.
Hours:
- Standard hours are Monday-Friday | 7:00am-3:30pm. This is subject to change based on customer schedules and managements discretion.
- Mandatory on-call weekend rotation.


Travel:

- Due to the fact T&J does not have a local shop in your region, you are responsible for UP TO 30 minutes of travel time to your first job of the day, and UP TO 30 minutes home from your last call of the day.

- Candidates must be willing to drive up to 2 hours (one way) for service calls


Responsibilities and Duties:
The Commercial Appliance Technician a critical role for our new Appliance Solutions division and will provide key support for our customers in a timely and professional manner.
The Commercial Appliance Technician Primary Responsibilities and Duties include:
- The Service Technician is responsible for responding to customer work orders as assigned by their service manager. This includes traveling to and from customer locations to troubleshoot and resolve issues as needed.
- The technician will be given a van, company fuel card, credit card, phone and iPad. All work orders are dispatched electronically via the phone/iPad the afternoon before. The tech is expected to quickly view those work orders, so they are aware of their next days schedule.
- The Service Tech is expected to take their vehicle home each night.
- Company Vehicle is permitted for work use ONLY unless cleared by T&J Service Manager ahead of time. All vehicles are GPS monitored not only for locating, but for monitoring safe driving habits.
- The Service Tech will report via phone to their manager here in Albany. The service manager is always available to assist the tech with any all questions and concerns.
- The Service Technician is required to follow all company policies and procedures both internally and externally facing.
Qualifications:
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Must have a clean driving record
- Candidates must be willing to drive up to 2 hours (one way) for service calls
- Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills as your supervisor will be remote, in our main office
- Ability to work independently and with others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Experience
- Experience maintaining, troubleshooting and replacing TurboChef, Merry Chef, Bunn, Mastrena, Hatco, Clover Vertica, Franke or similar equipment is preferred
- Knowledge of the Facility Services industry is preferred
Education/Licensure/Certifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Refrigeration certification highly encouraged, but not mandatory
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds at times
Other Requirements:
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States
- Candidates must pass a drug test and background check prior to starting work
