Job Description:
The Traveling Upfitter is a remote service tech that provides technical and installation support of StarChase products into law enforcement vehicles onsite. The role requires the candidate be able to follow technical instructions, perform functionality testing, preparing product and installation components for shipment, supporting returned or warranty products, onsite product installation, troubleshooting and repair. This is a full-time remote position, with an estimation of up to 80% travel. The position services customers nationwide and reports to the Service & Installation Manager, out our corporate office of Virginia Beach, VA.


Responsibilities:
• Installation of product into law enforcement vehicles
• Cross-training 3rd party installation representatives and fleet on install and operation of the technology
• In field product support, diagnose and resolve technical issues on-site, while working closely with local agency points of contacts
• Work with Territory Sales and Support team to facilitate installations
• Work with Service & Delivery and engineering staff to support other aspect of product deployment
• Support company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and best practices
• Receive and inspect returned systems for warranty or refurbishment
• Receive and field warranty issues, troubleshoot/repair for reinstallation of units
• Document product installations, servicing, and support efforts
• Gain product knowledge and installation procedures through mentoring provided by supervisors and management
• Gain troubleshooting techniques and diagnostic processes through onsite training and peer guidance
• Ensure proficient communication with vendor and agency interfacing skills
• Clean and maintain work area
• Secure equipment when not in use
• Identify risk mitigation actions and risks
• Work closely with all departments including CTO Office and engineering staff to constantly improve efficiency of installation and support capabilities
• Understand and work closely with all StarChase products including CoreView Mapping platform


The Ideal Candidate Must Possess:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license and passport is a plus but not required.
• Able to conduct service requirements during independent trips and as a part of a team.


Qualifications:
• Customer service and support experience
• 2+ years of vehicle installation experience
• 2+ years of trouble shooting and vehicle diagnostics
Mechanical/technical capabilities required to support install
• Fleet maintenance and field experience strongly desired

• Must be able to travel domestic & internationally
• Physical requirements: able to lift 50 lbs, comfortable working on vehicles, work conditions include inside and outside installation work, and frequent air travel.
