Position Requirements

Position Summary

The Business Development Sourcing Specialist is responsible for identifying, sourcing, and qualifying new locum tenens opportunities with healthcare facilities nationwide. This role focuses on outbound prospecting, relationship development, and pipeline generation to support revenue growth. The ideal candidate is proactive, results-driven, and comfortable engaging decision-makers in a fast-paced healthcare staffing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively source new locum tenens opportunities through cold calling, email outreach, networking, and market research
  • Identify and engage key decision-makers (e.g., medical directors, practice managers, HR leaders, credentialing teams)
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities
  • Conduct initial needs assessments to understand facility staffing gaps and timelines
  • Collaborate with recruiters and account managers to align candidates with client needs
  • Track all activities, leads, and opportunities in CRM (e.g. Phenom, Workday)
  • Stay informed on market trends, specialty demand, and competitive landscape
  • Support contract negotiations and handoff to account management when appropriate
  • Meet or exceed monthly/quarterly sourcing and pipeline generation targets

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred (Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field)
  • 1-3+ years of experience in sales, business development, or healthcare staffing (locum tenens experience strongly preferred)
  • Proven success in outbound prospecting and lead generation
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Comfortable with high-volume outreach and rejection
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace
