What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Good Guard Security Officer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Good Guard Security Officer, you need a solid understanding of security protocols, surveillance techniques, and incident response, often supported by relevant security certifications or experience. Familiarity with video monitoring systems, alarm software, and communication tools is typically required. Attention to detail, strong decision-making, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are crucial soft skills for this role. These competencies ensure effective monitoring, prompt response to security threats, and overall safety of the premises being protected remotely.

What is a Remote Good Guard Security?

A Remote Good Guard Security is a professional responsible for monitoring and securing properties, assets, or data from a remote location using advanced technology such as surveillance cameras, alarms, and access control systems. Instead of being physically present on-site, they use digital tools to observe and respond to potential security threats in real time. Their duties often include reviewing live video feeds, responding to alerts, coordinating with on-site personnel, and ensuring that all security protocols are followed. This role is increasingly popular as organizations seek efficient and cost-effective ways to maintain security across multiple locations. Remote Good Guard Security professionals must be tech-savvy, detail-oriented, and able to act quickly in case of emergencies.

What is the highest paying security guard job?

The highest paying security guard jobs are often in executive protection or bodyguard roles, which can pay significantly more due to specialized skills, experience, and sometimes requiring certifications like firearms or first aid. These positions may also involve working for high-net-worth individuals or in high-risk environments, leading to higher compensation compared to standard security guard roles.

Can security guards work from home?

Security guards, including those in remote security roles, typically work on-site to monitor premises, respond to incidents, and perform physical patrols. However, some remote security positions involve monitoring security systems or surveillance cameras from home, often requiring specialized training and security clearances. The feasibility depends on the specific job responsibilities and employer policies.

Why do security guards quit?

Security guards often quit due to low pay, irregular or long hours, and limited opportunities for advancement. Job stress, safety concerns, and lack of benefits can also contribute to high turnover in security roles.

Job Description:

About the Role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is redefining secure connectivity from edge to cloud, and we are looking for a SASE & Security Presales Specialist to help drive that transformation across the Eastern United States.

In this customerfacing technical role, you will be part of the HPE Networking SASE & Security Specialist Team, working closely with account managers, partners, and enterprise customers. You will design, position, and demonstrate secure networking architectures built on HPE Aruba Networking SASE, including secure SDWAN and clouddelivered Security Service Edge (SSE). You will also play a key role in helping customers understand the value of the integrated HPE + Juniper Networks security portfolio, spanning Zero Trust, SSE, SDWAN, and nextgeneration firewall technologies, and how these solutions work together to protect users, applications, and data across distributed environments.

This role is ideal for a technically strong presales professional who enjoys blending architecture design, storytelling, and handson demonstrations to solve real customer security challenges.

What You'll Do

  • Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer business drivers, networking environments, and security requirements.
  • Design and articulate scalable SASE and Zero Trust architectures incorporating secure SDWAN, SSE, identitybased access, and firewall technologies.
  • Deliver highimpact product demonstrations, workshops, and proofofconcepts showcasing HPE Aruba Networking SASE, including SDWAN, ZTNA, SWG, CASB, and DEM use cases.
  • Position and integrate solutions across the broader HPE + Juniper networking and security portfolio, including nextgeneration firewalls and datacentertocloud security designs.
  • Support sales pursuits by responding to RFPs, RFIs, and security questionnaires with clear, technically accurate documentation and diagrams.
  • Collaborate closely with account managers, specialist peers, partners, and services teams to drive successful deal outcomes.
  • Present confidently to both technical audiences and executive stakeholders, including security leaders and architects.
  • Provide field feedback to product management and engineering teams to influence roadmap and solution enhancements.
  • Travel across the Eastern U.S. to support customer meetings, partner engagements, workshops, and industry events. The majority of this will be in the region, but broader travel will be required occasionally.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of experience in technical presales, sales engineering, or solution architecture roles within networking, security, or cloud domains.
  • Handson experience with SASE, SSE, Zero Trust, SDWAN, or clouddelivered security architectures.
  • Strong understanding of security technologies such as firewalls, IPsec, SSLVPN, IDS/IPS, and traffic inspection.
  • Solid networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, HTTP/S, BGP, and OSPF.
  • Familiarity with identity and access concepts including SSO, SAML, OAuth, OIDC, and rolebased access control.
  • Working knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud).
  • Comfortable delivering live demos, whiteboarding architectures, and running customer POCs.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value.
  • Selfmotivated, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fastmoving, teamoriented sales environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with HPE Aruba Networking technologies (e.g., EdgeConnect SDWAN, Aruba Networking SSE, Aruba Central, ClearPass).
  • Exposure to HPE Juniper security technologies, particularly SRX firewalls or related management platforms.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CCNP, Security+, or relevant cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience supporting enterprise or large commercial customers in a presales capacity.
  • Familiarity with compliance or security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or Zero Trust maturity models.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to work on one of the fastestgrowing portfolios at HPE, combining SASE, Zero Trust, and nextgeneration security.
  • A frontrow seat to the integration and expansion of the HPE + Juniper networking and security strategy.
  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and flexible work arrangements.
  • Ongoing technical enablement, training, and career development opportunities.
  • A collaborative, inclusive culture that values innovation, diversity of thought, and continuous learning.
