IDEXX is seeking a Senior Software Data Quality Engineer to develop and execute test strategies to ensure the quality of data pipelines and integrations, machine learning and rules-based classification and applications in support of high impact clinical insights initiatives. You will join a team of talented software and data engineers, collaborating with data scientists, driving innovation in veterinary care. In this Role:
  • You will be a vital member of a highly effective Agile team delivering industry leading capabilities, participating in business planning and technical strategy.
  • Test the full suite of platform capabilities using a range of testing approaches from automation to exploratory.
  • Our team practices Scrum development.
  • You will collaborate with a close-knit team of other Software/Data Quality Engineers, Developers, DevOps, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters in a variety of remote locations - excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills are important for team success.
  • Constantly learn and expand your skills and knowledge on a cutting edge set of technologies.

What you need to succeed:
  • Proficiency with designing and executing test plans to comprehensively and efficiently assure conformance to business and technical specifications
  • Proficiency with creating and maintaining test data and environment required for the execution of test plans
  • Proficiency with documenting and communicating test results and metrics in a timely and effective manner
  • Proficiency at assessing and clearly communicating risk
  • Proficiency at continually improving consistency, predictability and efficiency of data quality related efforts
  • Proficiency with automation testing
  • Demonstrated drive to support continuous improvement in testing practices
  • Experience working through technical challenges and solving complex issues
  • Experience with programming languages (Python)
  • Experience with Github and experience with Github Actions
  • Experience with relational databases, Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Experience with one or more major cloud providers (e.g. AWS)
  • Experience with data quality, system, user interface and integration testing
  • Experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence, Slack, MS Teams
  • Exposure to Data Warehouse, Data Lake concepts and designs
  • Exposure to Data and Data Science Platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake)
  • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt
