What is a remote GIS administrator?

A Remote GIS Administrator is a professional who manages Geographic Information Systems (GIS) infrastructure, software, and data remotely rather than working on-site. They are responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining GIS servers and databases, ensuring data integrity, user access, and system security. Their work supports organizations in mapping, analyzing, and visualizing spatial data for decision-making, all while collaborating with teams and users online.
