As our Area Sales Manager, you will manage a high call volume from your sales representatives, giving them the support they need to succeed so that your region and ultimately our entire company prospers. You've done this before with another gift and souvenir company, completing meaningful work within short deadlines and traveling to client sites and tradeshows. You understand global companies but you won't have the same challenges of mass-produced product lines as we maintain a strong regional focus to meet local market needs. You'll feel good about our sustainable products, knowing that a portion of every sale supports children's rights and conservation organizations.

Who We Are:

The company, a leading designer and manufacturer of eco-friendly plush toys for the gift and souvenir market, is seeking a Area Sales Manager. The products are sold via third-party sales agents and their own direct sales force. Their product range is wide and often customized. Customers include independent retailers. The company has one physical locations in the US with headquarters in Denmark.

What You'll Do:

  • Ensure your team knows our products, services, and expectations through training and shadowing sales calls.
  • Determine territories with the greatest sales growth potential and travel with territory reps to develop their skills, execute promotional activities, and develop brand awareness in the wholesale marketplace.
  • Respond to your team and prospects via phone and email to ensure the best fulfillment outcomes and improve process issues.
  • Ensure your team has the samples and resources they need to succeed.
  • Attend trade shows and sales meetings (40% travel).

Who You Are:

  • You've supported 40+ sales reps within the gift and souvenir or home market, helping a major region excel over a 3+ year time frame.
  • Responsive: You know how to read your team and prospects without them explicitly telling you. You know how to persuade key decision-makers.
  • You have a pulse on the market, understanding market trends and business needs, and can flexibly pivot as necessary.
  • Organized: You are the organizational guru, the person everyone goes to for project management solutions because you manage many clients and team members successfully.
  • Programs: You work with PowerBI, Excel, and an ERP, tracking information, creating useful reports, and datasets to solve problems.
  • Leadership: People like and respect you and your perspective. You enjoy mentoring and leading others.
  • English communication: You can fluently communicate verbally and via email in English.

Office Hours/Travel: 

The position may be remote as long as the individual resides within a reasonable proximity to a major airport. The position requires travel up to 40% of work time.
